Dispute Procedure


If you feel that a software should not be on INAC ASAP detection list you can dispute the listing. Please read through the following criteria and if you still feel that the software should be excluded from the ASAP database click on the 'Proceed' link at the bottom of the page.

1. The program must not transmit information that will be used for tracking the user’s behavior or send personally identifiable information without their expressed permission and must not rely upon the license agreement as a means of expressed consent.
2. The program must not display or pop open advertisements while the program is hidden or residing in the taskbar. Internet Explorer, Netscape and other programs are the property of their respective companies and are not accepted as a visible program whereto piggyback programs display advertising on them.
3. The program must not install or update programs without the users expressed permission and must not rely on the license agreement as a means of expressed consent.
4. The program must not change the settings of another program without the user’s permission and must not rely on the license agreement as a means of expressed consent. The program must not force any setting upon the user and that the user can change such setting without adversely affecting other programs, network connectivity, or the operating system.
5. The program must include an ability to uninstall. The program must have the ability for the user to manually delete the program without adversely affecting other programs, network connectivity, or the operating system.
6. The program must not use the any communication device to contact toll companies without disclosing the cost and requiring the users expressed permission and must not rely on the license agreement as expressed consent.
7. The program must not use deceptive measures or hacks in order to deceive, scare, or force the installation of a program.
